Shutter Speed

This is an example of fast shutter speed as the picture is a lot more clearer.

This picture is an example of slow shutter speed as when things are moving, their motions become blurred.

Low Depth of Field

This is an example of low depth of field.

John Berger

- John Berger (1980) 'About Looking', Chapter 'Uses of Photography' p.59

I think this is very in tune with my ideas and how my photographs will complete themselves by letting them develop with my editing.

Paintings

Though these aren't photographs, I really like the style and the surrealist effects on iconic Brighton features.

Idea

‘I want to focus on Surrealism. It is interesting how people perceive photos differently to one another and so changing the effects on photos to change the look may convey different thoughts and feelings from the onlooker. When living in Brighton, people have their own memories, favourite places and give their own identity to Brighton. I want to produce photos in a surrealist style with my own twist on the way I perceive Brighton’s identity.’

General Pictures

These are some of the photos I took in relation to iconic Brighton and it's identity and meaning to me.

Ideas

I took pictures in Brighton of icons that relate to the city and edited them to give them a more surreal look.
